A Letter to Malfoy!

Dear Malfoy,

I’m a reader of stories about Harry Potter, and I know you from the stories. Today I’m writing for you to tell you my opinion about you. As I know that you are luckier than other students because you were born in a purebred wizard family, and your family is also richer than other families; therefore, it would be better if you pay more attention to your friends and don’t be jealous with them. I really don’t know why you are always jealous with Harry Potter, and why you want the school discard him out? Is that make you happier or you want to do that just only because Harry Potter is more famous than you? In my opinion, a good or bad person is recognized by his action; as Harry Potter, when Hermione hide herself in the restroom on the Halloween day, and the big Troll want to kill her, Harry and Ron returned to save her by themselves. Also, when Harry knew that there is someone wants to steal the Sorcerer Stone to help Voldemort recovering his power to destroy Hogwarts, Harry had tried to protect the stone to save other people lives. By doing those things, every body love him very much. You are in contrast Malfoy, you just know about yourself, and you can do anything to make you feel happy, you don’t need to know about the other people’s lives; therefore, those are the reasons why many people don’t like you. In short, no one is perfect in his or her life, the most important thing is that person knows the mistake and overcome the mistake. So you should change your conservative mind, and you should be friendly to other friends. By doing that, I’m sure that every people will love you, Malfoy.

- My opinion about Malfoy: Malfoy is a student of Slytherin house at Hogwarts, he is a jealous student, he is always jealous with Harry Potter, and he doesn’t want to lose others. Malfoy can do anything to discard Harry out from the Hogwarts School. For example, when Malfoy knows Harry plays the Quidditch team, Malfoy cannot play for the team; he used money to buy his seeker position in the Quidditch team. In addition, Malfoy is a conservative person, he has the same thinking as his father, Mr. Lucius Malfoy, he thinks that the Muggles and the people who are not purebred wizards shouldn’t agree to study at Hogwarts because Hogwarts school is only used for teaching purebred wizards.

Research about Oral Presentation

Hello everybody! I would like to make a research about "Stress" because there are more and more people have stress nowadays. What I'm really want to know about is the causes of tress, and how to overcome stress. And here are some information about my research:

1. General Encyclopedia:

- The name of the encyclopedia is Americana; year of publication: 2004; volume number 25.
- Summarize: According to J. INGRAM WALKER, M.D. (Duke University Medical Center) Stress, in psychology, a demand, threat, or other event that requires and individual to cope with a changed situation. In this book, the writer is also mention about some symptoms of stress that we may recognize before stress such as nightmares, recurrent memories of the event, sleep disturbance, and difficult in concentrating. In addition, the treatment an prevention of Stress are also written in the book; for example, limiting alcohol, eliminating smoking, sharing emotional feelings with others, and having a variety of hobbies or other interests outside work.

2. Subject Encyclopedia:

- The name of the encyclopedia is The International Encyclopedia of Education, publication in 1994, volume 10.

- According to M. Boekaerts, the writer of the article Stress, Coping, and Learning, the two examples of school situation that cause stress are: (a) waiting to take an important exam and discovering that one has studied the wrong material; (b) having a conflict with a teacher and being sent to the school principal. In this article, the writer gave some situations and he explained more about reasons why people have stress.

3. Compare and Contrast the two types of encyclopedia:

- Both the two types of encyclopedia are mentioning about the same subject; In the general encyclopedia, we can only find the information about a general information or a huge information on the topic that we want to know; on the other hand, in the subject encyclopedia, we can find the information with specific details. Therefore, in my opinion, both the two types of encyclopedia are important because if we want to have a good knowledge about any topic, we cannot only search information about a specific detail but we have to know about it in general and in specific.

- Therefor, in my oral presentation, I'm going to talk about the causes of stress, the symptoms of stress, and the treatment and prevention of stress.

Chapter Five: The Whomping Willow

- Summary: This chapter is telling about some last days that Harry spends his summer holiday at Weasley’s family. After that Harry and all members of Weasley family go to Hogwarts. On the way to the platform nine and three-quarters, Harry and Ron couldn't enter the platform, but they don’t know the reason why they couldn’t enter it; therefore, Harry and Ron decide to go to Hogwarts by Mr. and Mrs. Weasley’s car which is magicked already. Harry and Ron think that the Muggle couldn't’t see them drive the car to school, but they are wrong because there are some people have seen a flying car is flying above the street. As the result, this new is published on newspapers, and that becomes a hot new to Muggle people on the next day. In addition, when they arrive at Hogwarts, their car crashes on the Whomping Willow tree which has magic so this tree wants to kill Harry and Ron because they hit into it, however, they are so lucky to escape from it. When Professor Snape knows this new, he wants to discard Harry and Ron from Hogwarts, but he couldn’t do that because he is the head of Slytherin house, he has no right to discard students from Gryffindor house. So Harry and Ron become more famous to other student at Hogwarts.

- Personal Response: I really like to read books about Harry Potter because they are so interesting, and the situations from these books always make me surprised. When I read a chapter, I often guess the result of that chapter in my mind, but my guesses are not same with my guesses. For instance, when I read this chapter at the situation that Harry and Ron couldn't enter the platform nine and three quarters, I think they will contact to the Mr. and Mrs. Weasley and they will go the Hogwarts on the next day; however, they decided to go to Hogwarts by Mr. and Mrs. Weasley’s car; therefore, my guess is different from what happened in the story. On this chapter, in my opinion, Harry and Ron shouldn't decide to drive the car to Hogwarts, and they should contact to Mr. and Mrs. Weasley or contact to their school to find the ways for them. They shouldn't do that because they are so young to drive a car to school by themselves, and they could meet many problems on their way to Hogwarts such as lost their way, out of gas, and fall down on the sea or mountain, ect.

Microsoft introduces new business services.

- Summary: This article is written about Microsoft has just introducing its new services for business, at this time, Microsoft takes a nickname for its marketing strategy is "Microsoft Online". One of the new services of Microsoft is called "Office Live Workspace". This new service (software) will help companies to protect and manage their documents or their data, and it will also help companies to control their activities . According to Jeff Raikes, heads Microsoft highly profitable Business Divison, this new service could bring the company a more stable stream of subscription revenue; however, Microsoft only offers this service to big and large organizations and companies as its first model. Although there are many people like this service, there is a lot of people still worry about this new service; they worry about security and losing control of their data; therefor, they're on the sidelines until they can sure for that.

- Personal Response: I like this article because from it I can know and learn about a new way to introduce a new product to other people; instead of introducing product to every people Microsoft just offers to some big and large companies as a model to get the result first. I guess that Microsoft acts that not because it is not sure about its product, but may be because its product is a little bit expensive and suitable with only big and large companies than the small ones. Though there is a lot of people that are not interested in this new service because they are worry about losing their data or out of control data; however, if I were them, I would try this new service to know about its benefit and also to make sure that whether the new service is as good as its introducing or not. Whatever, as we know that Microsoft is a very big and famous company; therefore, it's product must be good as its famous.

Hi everybody! My name is Sum, I come from Vietnam. I have been living in the U.S for five months, and this is my second quarter at Seattle Central Community College. After finishing ESL course, I will study more about Business management in another college, and then I will transfer to a university in California to get a University degree in Business. I intend to study 4 years in the U.S., after that I will return to Vietnam to help my family doing business, and I also establish my own business.

About my interests; One of my most interests is studying about computer, specifically in Computer Programmer. Moreover, I also pay much attention about business information.
